What it is
The Altai is a mountain system at the meeting point of four countries. Its relevance to ASCENTIALS is a matter of chemistry, not romance: at altitude, the cold and the slow geology produce a resin with a favourable fulvic-to-humic ratio and a lower contaminant load than lower-elevation sources.
Provenance is a quality variable. Where a resin comes from shapes what fraction dominates and what has to be assayed out.
How we source it
ASCENTIALS takes resin from above 3,000 metres and cold-extracts it to protect the active fractions, then standardizes to ≥60% fulvic acid and confirms purity on a per-batch Certificate of Analysis.
The altitude is not marketing shorthand — it is the reason the starting material is worth standardizing at all.

What the record shows
Provenance and composition. Shilajit's makeup is source-dependent; these anchor the chemistry.
